Congrats 2023 8th Grade Graduates
As we close the 2022-2023 school year, we’d like to take a minute to celebrate our 8th graders; children from different walks of life that have come together through education. Many of them started their educational journey together here as K5 students, and some started even younger in our Early Education & Care Center. This year all 78 Students graduated and will be moving on to some amazing high schools, including Marquette University High School, Cristo Rey High School, Ronald Reagan College Preparatory High School, Carmen High School of Science and Technology, Veritas High School, and Nathan Hale High School.
As we look back upon the school year, we have lots to remember, LeRoy Butler, Green Bay Packer, and 2022 Football Hall of Fame inductee, and his presentation on Butler vs. Bullying. We learned how to stay focused on our goals, not lose sight of our dreams, and always treat others with respect. We also got to experience a fun field Day of the Child schoolwide event filled with ice cream, fun houses, rock climbing, bonding experience, and learning workshops held by Zamorano & Company at Compass, Women in Technology Wisconsin, and our awesome teachers!
Lastly, we can’t forget our Washington DC Trip, an awesome opportunity that our 8th Graders get to experience together with their teachers and our assistant principal. Our 8th graders got to visit the U.S. Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, National Cryptologic Museum, NASA Goddard Visitor Center, The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and much more.
Over the years these students have developed their education in our dual language/two-way immersion program, allowing them to communicate more comfortably and effectively in both English and Spanish. As well as a cultural deep dive, we offer our students a Careers in Technology curriculum which includes classes like Robotics, Launch / Project Lead the Way (Medical Detectives, Design, and Air and Space), Computer Science I and II (Web & App Design; Animation & Special Effects; Coding), and Video production through our Eagle News Network (ENN). Our students are also encouraged and supported to seek extracurricular activities including Volleyball, Choir Club, Guitar Club, Dance club, and more .
This year we celebrate Zayan Montañez, an 8th grader who entered the WIABE Art Contest and won the Grade 6-8 Writing Contest and whose artwork will be displayed on Sabor Tropical’s Wall of Milwaukee’s up & coming Latino athletes, artists, dancers, and students located inside of Sabor Tropical Restaurant and Lounge if you’d like to check it out!
Congratulations 8th graders!!! Many of you have been with us since K4 and we’re extremely proud to see you flourish and prepare yourself for the challenges and successes ahead. You are and will always be part of La Causa family – thank you for choosing us to be part of your journey. We are confident that we’ll hear nothing but success stories. Abrazo Fuerte!
