La Causa childcare and Education Programs

Education, Early Literacy, Child Abuse Prevention & Human Services

La Causa’s core services focus on education, early literacy, child abuse prevention, and human services through its Early Education & Care Center, La Causa Charter School, Crisis Nursery and Respite Center, and Social Services. By providing a centralized location to access multiple services, families can save time, cost, and effort while building connections with other families in similar situations, gaining new knowledge, and improving their overall quality of life.

Full-Service Bilingual Center | Ages 4 weeks through 12 years

La Causa, Inc.’s Early Education & Care Center is a full-service bilingual center focusing on children’s education and social-emotional development, ages four weeks through 12 years. Each classroom is equipped with age-appropriate curriculum and technology. All children receive developmental screenings, create goals with parent input, and track progress to ensure each child is meeting developmental milestones.

“Their childcare has really allowed us to look forward to an easier transition towards kindergarten for our children,” says Alejandra Veloz, mother of two whose children attended the Early Education & Care Center and La Causa Charter School.

The Creative Curriculum

Children also experience a life skills-based approach based on The Creative Curriculum. This approach helps promote independence, self-confidence, self-control, fine motor skills, critical thinking, and communication.

“Two of my children attend La Causa, and it has benefited us as a family to see our kids become more independent and social, thanks to their amazing teachers,” says Veloz. “Their teachers have really helped with their communication skills and are very compassionate! We truly appreciate the teachers and staff at La Causa!”.

Like Veloz’s children, many students who began their educational journey at the Early Education & Care Center go on to attend the La Causa Charter School in our full day of K4 & K5 classes.

La Causa Charter School offers bilingual programming and curriculum, emphasizing culturally relevant instruction, STEM, and social-emotional learning. Students can join after-school clubs such as art, robotics, guitar, and dance. Students in these clubs often present their talents at school concerts and cultural celebrations such as Cantos de las Americas.

Unique Bilingual Programming

Whether a student speaks English, Spanish, or any other language, they can expect a quality bilingual, multicultural school experience. For many students, La Causa Charter School’s unique bilingual programming and curriculum have helped them become fluent in English and practice their Spanish.

Alondra Couret-Feliciano, a long-time student at the school and one of the 2023 8th-grade graduation speakers, says, “La Causa’s bilingual program helped me learn English while they still took the time to have bilingual classes, which helped me advance in both languages.”

Families choose La Causa Charter School

The school prides itself in knowing that many of our families, like Alondra’s and the Veloz family stay with us from K4 through 8th grade.

“We are proud to say that from year to year, on average, 90% of our families continue to choose La Causa Charter School for their children’s education,” says Kari Hendricks, the principal of La Causa Charter School.

Come time for the 8th-grade graduation; the school administration is seeing students they have known from a young age walk across the stage to receive their diplomas.

“We build relationships with families that continue beyond their years in our school,” says Hendricks. “Even more exciting is that former students, now in high school or college, come back to complete community service hours or take a part-time job, and college graduates return to work as teachers in our school!”
