La Causa Charter School is incredibly proud of our talented students, Aidem and Alanna, for their outstanding achievement in game development! On January 31, 2025, Aidem and Alanna had the opportunity to showcase the video game they have been working on at the SHARP Literacy Video Game Expo at the Milwaukee Area Technical College in Downtown Milwaukee. Both students programmed their video game with the rest of their 3rd grade classrooms along with SHARP Literacy volunteers.
Alanna had a space themed game featuring a cat astronaut in the game. Her game can be played here.
“I was happy, nervous, and excited to show off my game,” says Alanna. “The name of my game is Catch As Many Cats as You Can. I came up with this idea for my game because I love animals!”
Aidem’s game also has a similar space themed game. Her game can be played here.
“I love playing video games, so my game was inspired by all the games I have played at home,” says Aidem.

Aidem and Alanna were joined by students from 40 other Milwaukee Area schools who also showcased their hard work and creativity through the video games that they have also been working on in their classrooms. All students had a game to share with attendees.
Aidem and Alanna’s parents were also in attendance at the expo. “I was very proud and shocked at how well Alanna worked the computer!” says Marisela Chavez, Alanna’s mom.
